ARE LOCK STOCK & BARREL PRODUCTS PARABEN FREE?

​

Yes. All our products are paraben free. Whilst we believe parabens do perform a vital role in the preservation of cosmetics, we understand an increasing number of consumers have concerns regarding some of these ingredients. In 2013, we took the decision to remove all parabens from our products and replace these with alternative preservative systems.

DO LOCK STOCK & BARREL PRODUCTS CONTAIN ARTIFICIAL COLOUR AGENTS?

​

No. We do not use any artificial colour agents in any of our products. The only natural colour agent we do use is caramel, which is essentially charred sugar, and gives a rich, dark-brown appearance.

​

DO LOCK STOCK & BARREL PRODUCTS CONTAIN ALCOHOL?

​

Yes. Some of our products do contain a degree of cosmetic-grade alcohol to achieve certain performance characteristics, such as reduced drying time or a faster-setting hold. Used in a balanced formulation, alcohol is crucial in achieving the high level of performance our users expect from salon grade styling products.

ARE LOCK STOCK & BARREL PRODUCTS SUITABLE FOR VEGETARIANS AND VEGANS?

​

The majority of our products are suitable for vegans. Those products which are not suitable contain beeswax. The following products therefore are not recommended as vegan-friendly: Disorder Matte Clay, Pucka Grooming Creme and Ruck Matte Putty. We do not use fats or other ingredients derived from animals, and we use only plant-based proteins, therefore all our products are suitable for vegetarians.

ARE LOCK STOCK & BARREL PRODUCTS PHTHALATE FREE?

​

Yes. All our products are phthalate free. Phthalates are film-formers used in many cosmetics, we feel there are more suitable alternatives for use in products which are applied directly to the body.

​

PETROLATUM AS A COSMETIC INGREDIENT, IS IT SAFE?

​

Like many ingredients used in the cosmetic industry, low quality or industrial petrolatum can contain contaminants which evidence suggests can potentially pose a threat to human health. However, where petrolatum has been properly refined, there are no known heath concerns posed by this ingredient. We use only the finest cosmetic-grade White Petrolatum in our products in accordance with EU law, where a complete refining history is in place.
